How to Tell If Your Windows Need Replacing

Windows don't fail dramatically. They fail gradually — a draft here, a rattle there, a slightly higher AC bill each summer — until one day you realise you're living with a wall of problems. Here are the signs Kanpur homeowners should actually watch for.

1. You can feel drafts even when the window is closed

Hold a lit incense stick near the frame edges. If the smoke moves, air is leaking. That means worn gaskets, warped frames or a bad seal — and it's directly costing you in AC efficiency.

2. Condensation forms between glass panes

If your double-glazed windows have fogged up inside the sealed unit, the seal has failed. It can't be cleaned or dried — the unit needs to be replaced. Single-glazed condensation on the room-facing surface is normal in winter, but persistent moisture pooling at the frame base points to a bigger problem.

3. Frames are warping, swelling or rotting
